The Chairman received the following notice from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue:

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) would like to inform you that employees from our Milwaukee District Equalization Office will be appraising a sample of properties in the Town of Erin during the fall and winter of 2025/2026. The results will be used to establish the 2026 Equalized Values, certified on August 15, 2026, but will not impact an individual property’s assessed value.

OUR APPRAISAL WORK INVOLVES:

  • Roadside inspections of residential, commercial, or agricultural properties
  • Taking photographs from public roads
  • Contacting owners of commercial properties to request an on-site inspection, when applicable

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • DOR employees conducting this review will carry a DOR-issued photo ID
  • We are using the 2025 assessment roll data from the County Property Lister and have requested your assessor provide access to the applicable property record cards

We greatly appreciate your municipality’s cooperation as it will contribute to the development of an equitable Equalized Value.
